Chase the Lion

Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-ordained passions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Keep asking questions. Keep making mistakes. Keep seeking God. Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Stop repeating the past and start creating the future. Stop playing it safe and start taking risks. Expand your horizons. Accumulate experiences. Enjoy the journey. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. Live like today is the first day and last day of your life. Don't let what's wrong with you keep you from worshiping what's right with God. Burn sinful bridges. Blaze a new trail. Criticize by creating. Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks. Don't try to be who you're not.

Be yourself.
Laugh at yourself.
Quit holding out.
Quit holding back.
Quit running away.
Chase the lion.

  1. Awesome Thoughts Bro! Have not read the book but have enjoyed his blogs on leadership. I know you could't see me but I was waving my Pentecostal Hankie while reading this blog! Love ya bro!

  2. As I read this, I couldn't help but think how this applies to our PCG family and where we are presently. This is the time to move forward. Literally.

I believe the present leadership of our fellowship has positioned this movement to make monumental history.

I'm so thankful to be serving in this season. I am so thankful to have Bishop Scott & Bishop Ming (quite the team if you think about it) leading us to the next level.

This morning my heart is filled with gratitude for their:

    God-sized goals
    God-ordained passion
    God-solutions
    Risk taking
    Diversity
    Expansion
    Trail blazing
    Creativity

I call each of you BLESSED!

  3. Thank you for the post. I was especially grateful for the last statement: "Don't try to be who you're not. Be yourself." If we would all heed this challenge, we would revolutionize the Kingdom.

  6. Great stuff! I turned each sentence into a question, creating my own test. I'm certain that many people would have given me an A or B (judging from the outside). But, judging from the inside, I must honestly confess that I bearly passed. Thanks for the thought provoking quote as I reflect on 2008 and plan for a New Year!
