Here's a question: Are we all called to lead?
I think we are are all called to lead in some way. (i.e., home, business, church, etc.)
When God begins to call you to a new level, what do you have to do internally to prepare for that level? In other words, how do you continue to grow and develop your leadership skills?
Is it more conferences?
Is it more books?
Is it more relationships?
Is it more retreats?
Another question: Do you know what your role is in the body of Christ?
I guess I could ask that question another way....what is your assignment? (i.e., life call.)
For me it is different things i do according to where i feel like i am at that time. I do all the things listed such as conferences, books, leadership training, etc.
ReplyDeleteBut also i try to stay in tune to when God is saying to me, SEEK ME more. There is wisdom in the counsel of many, but also we can go to every conference, read every book and ask every other person who is doing it, but if we are NOT in the place we need to be with GOD, all of that is to no avail.
What sort of seminars did William Seymour attend that empowered him for his role in birthing modern Pentecostalism?
ReplyDeleteFor that matter, what seminars did Peter, James, and John attend that prepared them for their role in establishing the early church?
Many of us heed Pr 23:23 "Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding." We read books and blogs. We attend conferences and seminars. We soak up every scrap of info available that might help us. (The key word is might, because there are no guarantees in church work.)
How much of this would be necessary if we took full advantage of the Holy Ghost?
Jn 14:26 "But the Comforter... shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance..."
Jn 16:13 "Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth..."
