In the past few months I've begun sending out video messages to our congregation. I've received some positive feedback from this. Anyone have any comments regarding the value of this type of communication? Ways to improve? What works...what doesn't work?

ReplyDeleteHere's my $.02 on the vids...
Pro:
Folks can download them to their iPod and listen later.
Cons:
1. Most folks can read faster than they can listen, and if something doesn't apply to them, they scan or skip ahead to whatever matters. On video, they have to listen to the entire thing.
2. If they're at work (or at a library), they could read the email without disrupting anyone else.
3. If they want to remember something, they can print out the email and stick it on their fridge, but they can't do so with a video.
For me, I'll take text over video any day.
