Thanksgiving Traditions

Just wondering what some of your favorite Thanksgiving traditions include? Thanksgiving dinner at home or away? Favorite desserts? Thanksgiving football? Ways you spend time with your family?

One tradition that has become a mainstay for our family includes hearing each family member share on thing that they appreciate about all the other members of the family. This is often done at the conclusion of our Thanksgiving dinner.

  1. We will go back home, Alabama, for Thanksgiving as we do each year. We spend the day with Karen's father and her siblings. We love to play horseshoes and croquet on Thanksgiving Day. Also a huge part of Thanksgiving is Sweet Potato Pie. MMMMM, we love it. We so look forward to spending the day relaxing and spending time with family. Thanksgiving Football is always a biggie with us also. Happy Thanksgiving

  2. This year we are starting a new tradition actually. We (our church) have rented out the local community center and will be serving 100's of hot turkey dinners to the homeless, needy, prostitutes etc. This has been a vision in my heart since we came to Banning. We just had the local Indian tribe who heard about what we were doing donate 50 turkey's for the event. Very excited. After it's over I will go home and have a nice dinner with my family, watch some football and play with my kids. I am a man most truly blessed! HAPPY THNAKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!

When it's my fam it will be Dallas Cowboy football and shopping on black Friday and always the Macy's parade with my girls. Coffee time with my brothers and sister. We can figure out the worlds problems in an hour. HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

  7. Hey. We're headed to Ohio to visit both our parents. My normal routine is to sleep in at my inlaws - have a small breakfast - watch the Macy's Day parade with Kaitlyn and then prepare to eat a delicious turkey dinner complete with my mother-in-laws world famous sweet potatoe caserole! Can I get a witness???

Then we usually take a nap and just chill for a couple of hours before we head to my parent's house for round 2.

On Friday we'll hit the stores, complain about the crowd, (lol) and then go out to eat.

What I really love about it all is that I am able to just chill with my family.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
